While patience is a virtue, being forced to wait just under a month for Emily in Paris season 4 part 2 has been nothing short of excruciating.

But thankfully, the hit Netflix comedy-drama always delivers the goods.

At the end of part 1, Emily and Gabriel finally confessed their love to one another, which means it’ll be happily ever after from here on out, right?

Wrong! This is a very dramatic and messy (and often infuriating) TV show, in case you hadn’t realised, which means you can expect plenty of shenanigans in the coming episodes.

Chatting exclusively to RadioTimes.com, Lucien Lavinscount said that while Emily and Alfie aren’t currently together, "there's always a time in life where love might come back round".

"I don't think anything's ever written off," he added.

Ashley Park, who stars as singing extraordinaire Mindy, added: "Well, some exes are definitely written off, but I don't think Alfie is about to. I would give him a day.

"I think there's an end to some, wherever, and you delete the number and it's over. But in terms of Alfie, perhaps."

When we leave our heroine at the end of the fifth episode, things have certainly started looking up for Emily.

She's making strides at work, and she's finally dating Gabriel, the chef and neighbour she's had her eye on for the three prior seasons.

However, while Emily and Gabriel have finally expressed their feelings for one another, there does seem to be a potential obstacle to their happiness: Gabriel's ex Camille, who he still thinks is carrying his baby (we find out at the end of part 1 that she's not pregnant, but she decides not to tell him right away).

Season 4 part 2 is likely to explore the dynamic between Camille, Gabriel and Emily.

The new episodes will also follow Mindy as she prepares for Eurovision, Sylvie in the aftermath of her speaking out about her former boss's assault allegations, and, of course, Emily, as she sets out on some new adventures.

"Emily finds herself with a busy travel schedule in season 4 of Emily in Paris," creator Darren Star previously told Tudum. "From the French Alps to the piazzas of Rome, viewers will vicariously experience amazing new locations through Emily's eyes.

"Expect new characters, a lot more drama, romance, and a whole new language to try and master."

Meanwhile, as detailed above, Emily's ex Alfie could well rear his head once again in part 2.

Speaking to RadioTimes.com about how it felt to come back to heartbreak this season, the actor said: "Gosh, it was eye-opening. No, I think, honestly, I think for Alfie, just going through this season, opening up his feelings and being vulnerable, it's been a lot of growth for him, I think."

It's all going on – and we can’t wait.

"We're shooting in a fall-winter season, so you're going to get snow, you're going to get Christmas, cosy vibes, and then you get Rome, oppositely," said Collins.

"All of this happens in five episodes, so it's going to be a really fun drop. And a lot of things happen in Rome that I'm excited to show everybody."
